Set after the events of the "Ben 10: Alien Force" animated series, the movie starts with the main characters Ben, Gwen and Kevin about to bust some illegal dealers who are trying to sell alien nanotechnology. The movie also manages to up the ante on the action, making for a truly epic story but with a couple of flaws. Not only does it boast higher production values and better directing, but it effectively captures both the look and the spirit of the original animated series in live action form.

It also means that it works great even on the low-end computer and the game stands on its own from a visual point of view.Ĭoupled with the fact that Alien Swarm is completely free of charge, it makes this one a must gave for any gamer. After the entertaining but horrendously executed "Ben 10: Race Against Time", Ben 10: Alien Swarm is a huge improvement. There is no option to turn off friendly fire, so killing your companies is a constant threat.Īlien Swarm is built on the same engine as Half-Life 2, so you might hear some of the familiar sounds for that game. It’s not an easy game, and it will require the complete cooperation. Soon after you start the journey, you will be attacked by hordes of aliens, and you will have to fight for every inch.

Weapons and abilities differ from one class to the other, and there are numerous obstacles in your path. A team of four soldiers, from different classes ideally, have to go through a level one end to the other for various reasons. The idea behind Alien Swarm is not complicated. What’s even worse, there is a special hat that you get in Team Fortress 2 if you play this game, so you might find yourself with alone on a map after all of your mates got their hats and left you for dead. The reason I’m mentioning friends is that is mainly a multiplayer game, and you need other players to help you, but the servers are not all that populated. If you and three of your closest friends are looking for a fantastic co-op game to pass the time, then you will be surprised to know that you can get Alien Swarm right now. Unlike that game, Alien Swarm has no microtransactions, and it’s simply a very well made multiplayer game with great co-op. It’s not difficult to imagine that Valve had the courage to make a really good game and make it available for free, but this happened before they decided to release Team Fortress 2 for free as well.

Alien Swarm is a completely free co-op multiplayer game developed and published by Valve.
